Orange, California, September 5, 2001 - The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Orange County Chapter announced the appointment of Chae Polonia, President and CEO of Avalon Corporation to their Executive Committee.

No stranger to philanthropy, Ms. Polonia's involvement with MDA began several years ago and has since become a distinguished leader among MDA volunteers. "Chae's unique talents and unfaltering commitment will be a driving force in helping MDA reach our fund raising goals," stated MDA Regional Director, Joan Rovegno.

When asked why she became involved with MDA, Ms. Polonia quickly responded, "To find a cure, of course" and adds, "it is very important to me to set an example to my children in the practice of giving back to the community and helping Jerry's Kids is a perfect way".

Ms. Polonia, entrepreneur and single mother currently resides in Mission Viejo with her two children, Brianna, 9 and Brandon, 7.
